For Joy My Soul Sings – Forget Me Not Chorus Project. https://www.forgetmenotchorus.com/

Since 2011, Forget-me-not Chorus – one of Wales’ leading dementia charities – has been organising weekly singing sessions for people with dementia and those who support them. We started in Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan and Newport, but are now expanding our reach, to include North Wales and the rest of the UK too.

As part of the Forget Me Not charity’s 10th anniversary celebrations, over 450 choristers from across the UK, North America and the Far East united to rehearse and record the premier of a specially commissioned choral work ‘With Joy My Soul Sings.’ World renowned Soprano Rebecca Evans CBE joined the global massed choir and the Forget-me-not Chorus to celebrate the joy of singing and its power to unite and inspire. The piece was composed by David George Harrington and librettist Louise Osborn.

Many members of Roath Community Chorus participated in this massed choir, due to Roath Community Chorus’ longstanding friendship with Kate Woolveridge (Co-Founder of the charity), and because it is a great cause close to our hearts, a charity that is local to the choir and our community, and just to join for the sheer joy of singing.
